Last year, I made an adjustment to my logo process to become more prolific.
I still start the project with 50 logo sketches, and I still present my clients with three concepts to choose from. But, during the building stage, I’ve given myself the freedom to develop as many concepts as possible (within a certain amount of time).
So, instead of just developing concepts 1, 2, & 3 (and hoping all three turn out nice), I now label my concepts as a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h… From those ideas, I pick the strongest three to present.
And, this technique has paid off big time. I’m quicker to abandon ideas when they don’t work and more likely to take risks. In the end, clients are seeing true best-of work.
