As a rule, I almost always use geometry or some kind of mathematical reasoning behind every logo design.
An organization or business’s brand is one of its most important assets, and the logo specifically will be replicated countless times for various social media, web, and print uses. The logo is a medium in which an audience comes to understand and recognize a brand. These designs carry a lot of weight! Therefore, even the smallest of details should be well thought out.
Here’s a look at the geometry behind ‘Walkman’, an alternate mark I designed for street wear brand, Crossings. Once we determined the general design, I revised the mark to ensure each line matched a 90, 45, or 30 degree angle. The result is a logo that feels geometrically sound.
