Finally, a chance to show off some logo skills in the classroom!
This project, ‘Adventures in Caving’, comes from my Computer Graphics class at Pikes Peak Community College with Susanne Arens of Crystal Peak – Advertising & Marketing in Colorado Springs.
AIC is a fictional company with global ambitions to provide timeless experiences through unique caving expeditions while preserving our delicate cave ecosystems. The logo design must:
-communicate ‘cave’
-be minimal and flexible
-serve black & white and color applications
-provide icon and wordmark options
The solution is ‘AV’, a sharpie’d mark depicting a stalagmite and stalactite. Here, Adventures in Caving shows its fun side with a marker drawn word mark and contour lines referencing the scribbled up map in your tour guide’s back pocket.
As always, the proposal starts in black/white and works its way to colors and mock ups. Enjoy:
